Have just returned home after a fantastic event at Betty Nansen Theatret, Copenhagen – An event underpinning that together we can make a difference, and that we shall not stop fighting for a better and equal world for all! HeartRebels has been nominated for the DANISH WORLD AWARDS 2009, which will be happening this Saturday the 24th of October. Come join us for the event at Jazz House 19.00 and see if we win the prize for having done a difference for world music in Denmark 09. Read more about the event here

The Danish World Awards is organized by the World Music Denmark (formerly The Danish World Music Association), which is a non-profit organization, founded in 1992 by a group of musicians, journalists, dancers and concert organisers. The organization is dedicated to the development and promotion of Danish world music and to improving the conditions for world music and related dance forms. World Music Denmark is recognised as the official interest group for world music in Denmark and receives an annual subsidy from The Danish Arts Agency (Ministry of Culture).
The organization supports bands based in Denmark with supplementary tariffs, marketing costs, supports workshops and events which promotes world music in Denmark. WMD cooperates with 4 jazz festivals and the SPOT Festival, organize the annual Danish World Awards and an upcoming World Music Festival, besides general information services, music export and the promotion of Danish world music abroad.
